Enrollment Services Manager
The Office of Student Aid is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the administration of federal, state, institutional, and private loan aid programs. In this role, the Director will provide strategic direction and leadership in the Office of Student Aid and be a contributor to the Office of Student Aid Strategic Planning process, to include development of policies, planning, budget analysis and resource allocation, in the delivery of student financial aid to all constituents. In addition, this role will advise students and their families about the student financial aid process, their eligibility and all aid programs available. This role will provide overall management and supervision of the Federal and State Aid Programs team, and will include responsibility for preparing and submitting the University’s annual FISAP report. This role is crucial in providing assessments and policy recommendations to the Executive Director to improve the awarding, processing and delivery of student aid to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations and University policies and procedures. Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide substantive management of the entire aid portfolio through oversight of the student integrated system and joint office processes and system interfaces. Penn State’s Office of Student Aid is responsible for administering and tracking over $1.2B in Federal, State, University and private/external student aid funding. These programs assist over 75,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students each year. This position requires in-depth knowledge of relevant federal regulations. The work of this position impacts Penn State’s approval to participate in Federal and State Student Aid programs which comprise the majority of the $1.2B in student aid funding at the University. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate’s competencies, education, and experience.
The Pennsylvania State University
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions student system preferred. The ideal candidate also will demonstrate excellent communication skills, effective leadership and team building skills, experience with using data to inform decision-making, and experience in the development and implementation of long-range strategic plans.
