Job Summary:
The Director of Financial Aid is an integral member of the enrollment management team in furthering the enrollment goals of Cabrini University, and is responsible for establishing an effective environment for the management, organization, coordination, and development of student financial aid funds and programs for all students, and providing leadership for the financial aid staff. The Director is responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which ensures that the office operations and financial aid programs are effective and efficient, that assets are safeguarded, and information is reliable. The Director ensures that the office complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and maintains the highest level of customer service.
DUTIES:
In conjunction with the Dean, University Admissions  and other admissions senior staff members, develop enrollment and financial aid projections to establish realistic enrollment and revenue goals for entering classes.
In conjunction with the Dean, University Admissions and the Director of Admissions, analyze and review effects of recruiting, marketing, and financial aid programs and initiatives.
Ensure that office staff maintains a quality customer service orientation towards all clients and that staff works closely with other University offices to achieve institutional objectives.
Coordinate all grant, loan, scholarship, and work programs in accordance with current legislation and institutional policy.
Interpret changing regulations and apply them to institutional policy applications and required documents.
Keep senior staff abreast of changes in programs and potential impact on Cabrini University. Advise on requirements for compliance with federal and state regulations.
Maintain records and fiscal controls in student aid funds.
Full responsibility for completion of Cabrini University’s Fiscal Application for federal funds each September.
Work in collaboration with the admissions office in providing aid applications to all applicants.
Ensure goal of timely turnaround for all aid applications is achieved
Supervise the follow-up on all prospective and incoming students as necessary including counseling, package review, etc.
Provide financial counsel to both aid eligible and non-aided students and their families.
Manage strategic financial aid projections and financial aid budget. Propose annual financial aid budget and manage the financial aid office budget.
Provide appropriate training for admissions staff.
Prepare reports as required.
Serve on various University committees and perform other duties as required.

Qualification:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Outstanding team building and leadership skills and a commitment to working in a team enrollment management environment. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines. Knowledge of current practice approaches and trends of admissions merit aid and revenue driven financial aid. Ability to relate well to diverse constituencies: Prospective students and their parents, adult students, graduate students, faculty and staff. Marked ability to establish harmonious relationships and to deal effectively with students having financial aid problems and to counsel students with financial needs. Ability to organize, supervise and develop financial aid staff. Effective computer and data management skills. Effective budget management skills and the ability to keep financial records and to prepare them for audits. Ability to develop effective programs and to consistently meet strategic goals and objectives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree Five to seven years financial aid experience in a private higher education setting including supervisory/management responsibilities PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel Administration, or Business Administration Experience working in a Financial Aid office at the Associate Director level
