Job Description:

Douglas Education Center is looking for a Financial Aid Officer to join our team. The Financial Aid Officer will guide students through every aspect of the financial aid process by a series of seamless transitions from the application process through graduation and beyond. In order to do this, the financial aid officer will need provide a high level of customer service to our customers and also work closely with various departments.

Guide students through every aspect of the financial aid process by a series of seamless transitions from the application process through graduation

Work closely with various departments such as: Admissions, Business Office and the Education Department

Provide information to students regarding financial aid program requirements and procedures

Fully package and repackage financial aid awards using both standard term credit hour and non-term credit hour methodologies

Evaluate and award federal aid based on eligibility

Evaluate and award other sources of financial aid such as: veteran’s funding, state grant aid, agency funding, etc.

Maintain and review student files for both accuracy and completeness;

Interpret, apply and comply with federal, state, agency and institutional regulations governing financial aid and maintain current working knowledge of guidelines/regulations relating to financial aid

Administrative tasks such as: managing a particular funding source for maintenance and reconciliation or managing a particular segment of financial aid such as state grant and special programs or default prevention and management

Utilize the internal Campus Management/Anthology System and Conext Customer Relationship Manager for updating and reports

All other duties as assigned

Qualification:

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of numerous rules and regulations as well as a variety of technical sources such as COD, NSLDS, PHEAA, VA Enrollment Manager/WEAMS, FAA Access to CPS Online, Campus Vue/Anthology, Microsoft Office, Conext CRM, etc. Prior post-secondary financial aid experience (career school) preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel). Experience with a student information system (SIS) and customer relationship management (CRM) system, COD, NSLDS, PHEAA, VA Enrollment Manager/WEAMS, and CPS Online. Must be a detail-oriented, team player and practice excellent time management skills.
