Job Description:

Wilson College is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a full-time Director of Financial Aid.  The director is responsible for the development and oversight of the institutional financial aid budget; financial aid packaging; understanding and implementing all state and federal financial aid regulations; and training/updating the financial aid and recruitment staffs regarding changes in state and federal financial aid regulations and programs. The director will work closely with both the Vice President of Enrollment Management and the Vice President of Finance and Administration in developing an institutional financial aid budget pursuant to the annual college budget, strategic plan and long-range planning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees the effectiveness of the financial aid program for new and continuing undergraduate and graduate students leading to optimal student enrollment.
Develops the annual student aid budget for all constituencies in consultation with the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Vice President of Finance and Administration.
Assures that the packaging of financial aid for both new and continuing students occurs in a timely manner that enhances recruitment and retention efforts.
Implements an effective and responsive financial aid consultation plan that meets the needs of prospective and continuing students and families.
Oversees the competitive scholarship programs and processes.
Updates and advises the Vice President of Enrollment Management and the Vice President of Finance and Administration on all matters concerning financial aid, leveraging and related issues of technology to insure that the College and students are well-served.
Maintains the Colleague financial aid data system and coordinates processes with enrollment, student accounts and registration to enhance planning and decision-making that maximize opportunities for recruitment and retention.
Serves as liaison with the Department of Labor and Industry for Trade Act and Workforce Investment Act programs.
Serves as the liaison with the VA and Department of Defense for the various education benefits programs for veterans, dependents and active duty personnel to ensure that all requirements are maintained.
Provides data requested by other constituencies of the college including institutional research, academic advising, finance, and  advancement, pursuant to their needs and requests.
Works with the Vice President of Enrollment Management and respective admission staffs in the development of policy, strategic planning and financial aid to meet the strategic institutional goals.
Represents the Enrollment Management division on the Academic Procedure Committee.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
Full-time, variable hour dependent on needs of department
Some work during evenings and weekends may be required.

TRAVEL:
Limited local travel as needed.

Qualification:

High level of accuracy and attention to detail. High standard of integrity to handle confidential information appropriately. Demonstrated ability to work independently, and to respond effectively to pressure and stress. Exceptional time management with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree required with a combination of five years experience in financial aid, budgets, and personnel management. Experience with Ellucian Colleague or similar student information systems. Master’s degree desired but not required. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
