The Financial Aid Office supports the recruitment, retention, and student success efforts of the University’s diverse undergraduate and graduate student population by helping students and their influencers seek, obtain, and make the best use of all financial resources.

The Senior Associate Director oversees reconciliation for approximately $100 million in in the Direct Loan Program and $19 million in federal Pell grants; provides leadership for the Office; facilitates fund drawdowns and return of funds to ensure compliance in collaboration with Finance and Business Services; assists in preparation and submission of financial reports required by federal, state, and institutional mandates; and contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the student financial aid services experience.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership experience in a financial aid office; hands on experience with student information systems, student auxiliary platforms and Department of Education platforms; experience maintaining compliance with state, federal, NCCA and institutional regulations; excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively across a diverse population; and a commitment to student success.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee daily management of the Office
Administer and reconcile all federal and state monies
Administer and reconcile all employee tuition waivers, housing grants, and graduate assistant awards
Administer all athletic awards per NCAA guidelines and update aid in the NCAA Compliance Assistant (CA)
Document monthly and year end reconciliations of Title IV Aid and Private Educational Loans
Ensure compliance with all state, federal, NCAA, and institutional regulations
Remain up to date with regulations, policies, and guidelines related compliance
Lead and supervise three Assistant Directors of Financial Aid
Develop and maintain a policy and procedure manual and corresponding calendar to document processes, increase efficiencies, and impact the student experience in collaboration with campus partners in the offices of the Registrar, Bursar, and Admissions
Other duties as assigned

Qualification:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Five (5) years of Higher Ed financial aid office experience Two (2) years of management/supervisory experience in Financial Aid Experience using student information systems such as People Soft and Banner Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel Preferred Qualifications: Experience with student auxiliary platforms such as Campus Logic, OnBase, and SLATE/CRM Experience with Department of Education platforms such as COD, NSLDS, and FAA Demonstrated experience in reconciliation of Federal Pell Grant, Direct Loans, and Private Educational Loans Demonstrated experience with Return of Title IV (R2T4) regulations Demonstrated experience with federal verification regulations Experience administering NCAA Division II Awards and maintaining compliance Experience building and maintaining policy and procedures manuals
